How to have a cosy marquee during the winter
If you’re planning a winter wedding or party and are considering a marquee then there are lots of thinks to think about - bad weather, keeping guests warm, making sure people can see once darkness falls…. but if you get it right, the result can be magical! A winter wonderland for guests - cosy, warm and inviting.
The practicalities of having a winter marquee
Our clear span marquees are fantastic venues all year round. But how do we keep our guests warm and dry? The marquees can be fully lined and carpeted, with a hard wood floor which is raised off the floor and even cassette doors that can be kept closed keep the warmth in. Our indirect diesel heaters can be included to blow in nice and warm, clean air which will heat the marquee. A matted walkway entrance if on grass will save guests shoes. A ‘tunnel’ effect walkway can also be put in place to get the guests to the marquee, if required. Toilet trailers can be installed under cover in an attached marquee to save your guests from going outside.
Lighting your winter marquee
Winter marquees are amazing, the dark evenings mean that lighting can really add to the atmosphere. Lighting with lovely uplights set to warm colours definitely enhances the atmosphere. No winter marquee is complete without fairy lights and there is no such thing as too many! We can also use outdoor spike lights for dramatic lighting around trees or outside buildings.
Winter marquee decor ideas
Invite guests to enjoy the festivities in relaxed seating areas; bring texture and warmth with plump cushions and sumptuous fabrics such as faux fur throws and hides or for a more organic look, adorn hanging installations such as floral hoops with seasonal, lush green foliage not forgetting a Christmas tree if it’s over the festive period!
Clear roof marquees add another dimension to winter marquees as you really get to party under the stars! As the evening draws in, your lighting strung in the roof space of the marquee will reflect off the clear roof to give double the sparkle - stunning!
