Marquees can be erected onto different surfaces, whether it be on grass, hard standing ground or both. Something that is very important to consider is the flooring within the marquee which there are several options which may be dictated by the weather.

Basic

Simply leave the floor as it is!

If you are having a garden party on grass and it’s a nice, dry day then you may not require any flooring at all and works very well at bringing the ‘outside – in’ feel. This this is often the option for corporate events.

Carpet

This versatile, lightweight yet durable cord carpet is available in many colours, from black to white and everything in between!

Our most popular choice is our Evo-Rib cord carpet specifically made for marquee use. The colours we hold regular stock of are – Black, Champagne, Burgundy, Anthracite and Blue. However there are a lot more colours available upon request. Our carpet is always new on each and every job and gets disposed of after the event is finished.

If carpet is to be laid directly on to grass we will place a plastic sheet down first and carpet over the top using nails to fix into the ground. On a hard standing surface we will colour match the carpet with tape to fix around the edges and secure the joins.

Hardwood flooring

We always recommend the hard wood flooring to all of our clients for the best finish.

In the instance of our wonderful British weather taking a turn for the worse then this is the only option that we guarantee that the floor inside the marquee stays dry. It’s 8ft x 2ft sheets of 18mm ply wood on 38mm high wooden bearers no matter what the drainage of the garden, whether it’s grass or hard standing then the water will just run beneath the floor boards without causing an issue or interruptions to your event.

Although we don’t say that we can make your garden completely level, we will however make it as flat as possible and get rid of any lumps and bumps or dips with packing where needed creating a perfect solid flooring especially when considering a surface for chairs and tables and of course women in heels!

Lastly, as practical as the hard wood flooring is, it’s not aesthetically pleasing to look at! We always suggest carpeting it to finish which gets fixed to the flooring with staples for a nice clean finish.
